emily tanner - Lead Elementary Guide. My hero journey started with the many wonderful adventures I had growing up in a large family. My childhood was predominantly spent climbing trees, building forts and exploring outdoors. Now, I am a musician, mother, artist and athlete, and my greatest joy comes from serving others and enriching the community. I’ve taught grades K-5 in various private and public schools beginning in 1998, and I hold a Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Bachelors in Maternal-Child Health. My husband and I raise a blended family, comprised of 5 children and 2 dogs, and we live in Tempe. In my spare time, I love to dance, swim, cook, garden and read. I also serve in my church community and enjoy volunteering with the police department. This is my first year at Acton, and I am very excited to guide the elementary studio.

anne-emmanuelle persil - LEAD PRIMARY GUIDE Bonjour! I was born in Dijon, France, and as a young girl, I quickly learned the value of a great education, having observed my mother in a teaching and headmaster role at the local elementary school. I spent my time between school, ballet, piano lessons, and developed a deep interest in Opera, particularly Verdi, and Puccini. At University in France, I studied Musicology, Art History, and Archaeology to attempt to satisfy my appetite for learning. I moved to Arizona in 2003 and studied Early Childhood education, beginning my professional experience as a French teacher at the International School of Arizona. I am proud to say that since 2006, I've taught kids from many different socio-economic backgrounds and learning abilities, including special needs, low-income communities, and international students. Most recently, I worked in a Reggio-Emiliano inspired school, that focused on self- expression, communication, logical thinking, and problem-solving, in a lead teacher role. In my spare time, I enjoy dancing, spending time with my blended family, decorating my life with pink and glitter, and taking care of every animal in sight. I am honored to be joining the Acton Academy this year.
